The Standard Design Practice, C857, developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for Minimum Structural Design Loading for Underground Precast Utility Structures, has been the criteria used by UCP to develop the UCP proprietary utility vaults in this online catalog. Many other products in this online catalog are based on the criteria of the using or developing agency other than UCP The basis of the design criteria is noted on the individual product catalog pages. UCP recommends that the suitability and application of these products be determined by a licensed Professional Engineer experienced in underground construction. ASTM C857 utilizes AASHTO H-20 wheel loads as the assumed maximum live loads. UCP can also provide utility vaults for more severe loading criteria such as E-80 (railroad) and aircraft wheel loads.
